Elaborating appropriate culture methods
Developing new techniques
As well as specialising in the development of minimal cell culture environments, Cell Culture Technologies has elaborated particular culture methods for successfully preserving, routinely maintaining, transfecting and selecting established animal cell lines such as Chinese Hamster Ovary (CHO) cells in minimal culture media. In 2003, we entered into a technical collaboration with the European Collection of Cell Cultures (ECACC), Porton Down UK, to adapt ECACC’s cell lines to serum-free proliferation in our minimal media, and to transfer our know-how relating to cultivation and cryopreservation of such newly adapted cell lines.
Today, thanks to the minimal media developed and manufactured by Cell Culture Technologies, the ECACC distributes several serum-free human and animal cell lines banked in our media such as 293-Hektor, Vero-Hektor, NS0-TurboDoma, Sp2/0-Ag14-TurboDoma, P3X63Ag8.653-TurboDoma, BHK-21-InVitrus, COS-1-InVitrus and COS-7-InVitrus. Additionally, we guarantee a superior scientific support to academic research institutions looking for particular applications where the choice of the right culture methods and media formulations is essential to achieving a successful result.
