InVitrus media were originally developed for the in vitro maintenance of human T-lymphoma cell lines, mammalian kidney cell lines, and monolayers of primary chicken embryo fibroblasts for viral replication in chemically defined, protein and peptide-free culture environments. The authenticated and certified serum-free cell lines BHK21-InVitrus, COS-1-InVitrus and COS-7-InVitrus available at the European Collection of Animal Cell Cultures (ECACC) can be routinely cultivated and banked with the InVitrus media.

InVitrus medium, kit for the preparation of 8 liters medium.
The complete kit consists of 5 bottles.
The InVitrus medium, art. IVT, is a minimal nutrient mixture for the protein and peptide-free selection, routine maintenance and cryopreservation of mammalian kidney cell lines, including the BHK21-InVitrus (ECACC accession no. 05062302), COS-1-InVitrus (ECACC accession no. 04092902), and COS-7-InVitrus (ECACC accession no. 05063001) cell lines. The medium can be used to routinely grow cells in static or agitated culture systems such as tissue culture flasks, spinner flasks, shaker flasks, roller bottles and membrane reactors (i.e. Integra’s CELLine).
The InVitrus VP-6 medium, art. IVP6, is a fortified nutrient mixture for the production of recombinant proteins with several kidney cell lines, including the above mentioned serum-free cell lines, and the 293-Hektor cell line (ECACC accession no. 05030204). InVitrus VP-6 is typically used for batch, fed batch, and perfusion culture processes.
InVitrus media are available as 1X liquid preparations ready-for-use as well as kits of highly concentrated liquid solutions for the reconstitution of 8, 20, 200, and 2000 liters 1X medium.
The liquid concentrates have to be reconstituted with tissue culture water prior to sterile filtration. Click on the link below to see the method of medium reconstitution.
