Focus on human in vitro nutrition – Case study #3

Vitamin-free physiological medium to study cellular alterations in Lesch-Nyhan disease fibroblasts

We are pleased to announce the paper by Paula Escudero-Ferruz et al. reporting the results of experimental research on the culture of Lesch-Nyhan disease (LND) fibroblasts in our customised physiological media. Cell Culture Technologies contributed to the study published by the research team of José M. López at UAB, Barcelona, Spain, by creating a modified physiological medium free of all vitamins to facilitate the functional and structural characterisation of LND fibroblasts. The modified physiological medium used by the authors is part of our InVitroNutrition catalogue including protein and peptide-free, chemically defined minimal media devoid of growth factors, lysates and extracts of any kind. Culture media customisation is part of the InVitroNutrition program, our service platform for the development of chemically defined media for human cell culture.
